Pick 3 Pinterest for December
Don’t you love the holidays? The kids are excited and so are the teachers! It’s a wonderful time to be in the classroom with all the fun projects.
I always tried to bring the holiday spirit into my lessons because there really isn't much extra time through the week. Here are three ideas I found on Pinterest that incorporate a holiday theme into everyday lessons.
This snowy tree looks like so much fun. My third graders always studied rocks and minerals and we usually made little crystal gardens with ammonia, bluing and salt. Kids are fascinated when the crystals start forming.
This website explains a little about the process that is taking place during this experiment: http://mrsstewart.com/magic-salt-crystal-garden/
I LOVE these snow globe crafts. Along with the snow globe students can write a story. Here are a few topics:
-Help! I'm trapped in a Snow Globe!
-The Best Snowman Ever
-How to Make a Snowman
-Snow Days are the Best!
-The Trouble with Snow
